My gauge was fluctuating a little at first but now it stays at 80 PSI. I just changed the pressure switch, but it now just stays at 80 even when the engine is off. Any advice would help.

Hi,

For the gauge to stay at 80, there is likely a short to ground in the wire itself. Closely inspect the wire going to the oil pressure sensor for damage to the insulation.

Also, remove the connector and check to make sure it is installed correctly and not damaged.

I've attached diagnostics below. They are for an inoperative gauge, which is what it sounds like you have at this point. The diagnostics require a scan tool that can actuate different circuits on the vehicle. Take a look at them and let me know if it is something you can do or have done.

Take care,

joe
