When ever I turn on my car the radio seems to have a ticking noise

The ticks get closer together as the engine speeds up and I think the charger has a fluctuating voltage but I haven't checked. I don't know if it's in the radio but I have heard that this could also be a problem with the ignition capacitor. How could I fix this?

I assume the noise is only there when the engine is running? Meaning if you turn the key to the on position and turn the radio on, it is not there? Then you start the engine and the ticking starts?

If this is the case, then yes this is something in the ignition system. This is not uncommon when there is a short in the secondary (high voltage side) of the ignition system.

I would suggest starting the engine and then going one by one and unhook the ignition coils. I attached the info on this. You just need to unplug the coils one at a time until the noise stops.

Once it stops, replace that coil and spark plug and it should correct the issue.

Let us know what you find. Thanks
