So, I’m having an issue with my car listed above, I turned the car off after it ran fine now it won’t go into reverse or neutral but it’ll go into drive and gears 2-4. Limp mode is on I’m guessing because it has low power, but everything sounds good. There’s absolutely no noise change with the car, the engine runs fine, there’s no shake when it’s running. I changed the transmission fluid it was black, and I replaced the filter. I ran a diagnosis on the car, and it told me that the fourth and fifth shift solenoid was stuck closed but when I went to figure that out myself, they were open. So, I’m confused on what’s going on with the car. I don’t know if it could be, the transmission module not communicating right or a bad clutch.

Hi,

What happens when you place it in neutral? Also, did you confirm the transmission fluid is clean and full?

If you haven't, I would suggest doing that next. Also, if you could, let me know the codes that you retrieved.

If I recall, there were issues with the transmission coolers leaking coolant into the transmission. Confirm there is no evidence of anything mixing with the ATF.

Let me know. Also, let me know if the shifter can be placed in neutral or reverse.

Take care,

Joe

The shifter moves fine through all the gears When it’s placed in neutral, it’s like it’s still in gear or you’re holding the brake when you give it gas but it doesn’t move when you try to push it same thing reverse does the exact same thing I change the fluid it was black and smell burnt there was no other mixing of any other fluids in it and I made sure it was full before I drained it and when I filled it back up I also let someone use my diagnostic tool but I remember they were transmission high temp which is why I changed the filter and 4-5 stuck shift solenoid but they were open when I checked I’ll get the codes tomorrow off the device.

Hi,

By chance, were you able to get the codes? I'm interested in knowing. Also, let me know if the gear indicator is working properly.

Take care,

Joe
