While driving lost all electricity and brakes?

When you say you lost all electricity does that mean the vehicle shut off? If so, the reason the brakes went out was when the engine shuts off, it loses the vacuum in the engine. However, you should have about 2-3 times of pressing the pedal before you lose all assist. The brakes should still work but they are now manual brakes which means your foot on the pedal is all the brake power that the vehicle has.
