There is a high pitch squeal from the engine. Is this from one of the belts? And does this means it needs replacing, adjustment or both?

Most often the squel is actually from one of the pulleys being drive by the belt, not the belt itself. You will need to listen carefully with a mechanis stethoscope or similar tool to see which, if any, pulley component needs replaced/rebuilt.
