Noises problem
2005 Nissan Pathfinder 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic

I just bought Nissan Pathfinder 2005 (4L engine). From the very beginning I noticed the loud nose from the engine during its warm up (about 1000 rpm) - like from the heavy truck. After some time when the engine becomes hot the noise significantly reduces (about 600 rpm). Also if I depress the accelerator (on the hot engine) and the engine rotation is about 2000 rpm then the noise is still more loud than one produced by the similar cars (for this comparison I have visited several dealerships). After investigation I have found that it looks like the noise most likely comes from the fan - not from the mechanical parts but from the air flow.
Could you explain me this behavior and what can I do with it?

I also have this issue with our Pathfinder. The way that it was described initially is exactly like mine (so close, it wouldn't be surprised if it was the same pathfinder - HA!). I've also used my Nissan Frontier as a point of reference on how loud the engines are during start up and honestly, the Pathfinder sounds like a commercial truck while my frontier sounds normal.
