I bought a 1999 nissan pathfinder, I notice some play in the steering, so I took the truck to Midas where they showed me some frame damage on the driver side(near the steering colum).I was told that the whole frame on the driver side has to be replaced. Also that who ever tried to fix the frame by welding it was wrong! Is that true?

i'm buying the pathfinder for $5000.00. What is it worth? (Ball park figure)
