Electrical problem
2000 Other Nissan Models

My ad wagon engine check light comes on sometimes but if I switch off and restart it's off for awhile, also I get a problem sometimes when I go up hill the car starts (jerking/shaking) feels as if it's going to shut down, and I recently started getting those problems on the surface roads as well. Now I get those problems whether engine check light is on or not. What may be the problem or what should I do?

Your possible causes could be one of the following:

Oygen Sensor
Catalytic Converter
Dirty fuel injectors (cleaning the injectors often fixes this).
Bad MAP (manifold absolute pressure) sensor
Bad TPS (throttle position) sensor
Bad or dirty MAF (mass airflow) sensor
Low fuel pressure (leaky fuel pressure regulator or weak fuel pump)
Vacuum leaks (intake manifold, vacuum hoses, throttle body, EGR valve)
Bad gasoline (fuel contaminated with water or too much alcohol)

Sometimes, what feels like a hesitation is actually ignition misfire rather than lean misfire. The causes of ignition misfire may include:

Dirty or worn spark plugs
Bad plug wires
Weak ignition coil
Wet plug wires
Coil and Rotor

Thanks alot for that info I carried my car to an electrician recently he ran a diagnostic and he says that the coil pack is bad but he can't tell which one so I'll have to get all four changed, does that sound right to you? Thanks for any help.

That's if its a COP-coil on plugs which means every sparkplug has a coil on top it-he shoild be to identify what coil even if its a direct ignition system-coil packs
