2000 Nissan Maxima thermostat

Put a new thermostat in when car in idle it dont run hot even when I run up the rpm but when I drive it the car over heat. Tried two new thermostats. Took the piece out the thermostat and reconnect the car dont over heat but I cant control my tempature.

You could have air in the system. You need to make sure you get the air bubbles out of it so that the antifreeze can flow. Let the car run then watch the antifreeze level if it drops then add more keep doing it till you think it taken care of. DO NOT OVER HEAT THE MOTOR! The thermostat could be put in upside down as well check that too.
