1995 Nissan Maxima Engine Shaking

My check engine light has been on for awhile and my car has been shaking fairly rapidly in first gear, when it idles, and when it is stopped. If I put it in neutral, it stops. Is it my transmission?

When was the last time it seen a major tune-up?

A common problem with that year 3.0l is the ignition coils and also the fuel injectors. Problem is there are six of them and they are not cheep. If one is faulty then you should replace all six at the same time. My guess would be the coils are worn out.
