1994 Nissan Maxima Engine Light on and car is shaking

Engine Performance problem
1994 Nissan Maxima 6 cyl 171000 miles

Over the weekend, my car started to shake and my engine light came on. The car is also a bit louder than usual. WHen I put the car on neutral, it wouldn't shake as much. My car is pretty old and has a lot of mileage on it.

Someone told me to bring it in for a tune up, would that solve the problem? How much does the tune up usually cost so I would know what to expect?

Depends on what you consider a tune up and whats wrong with the vheicle.

Best bet would be to get the check engien light scanned then see whats causing it to come on and we can elimate alot of possiblitys.

Autozone will scan for free.
