Engine Performance problem
1992 Nissan Maxima Front Wheel Drive Automatic 225000 miles

When engine is hot after driving a while on interstate, the car begins "serious chugging" and then eventually stalls. Does not seem to effect the car unless it is HOT. I repalced the fuel filter. Does okay around town, but I am concerned to take it "over the road". Can you diagnose the problem?

Hi Mike Gray,

I would check the electricals, ignition coils and related parts.

Is the check engine light showing?

A diagnostic check should be able to show which item is not functioning within specs.
