I have a break light that I'm trying to replace in my Altima. I have removed the two nuts on the inside of the car that hold the assembly in place but cant seem to get the assembly to release from the car. I think I read there is a seal of some sort that is holding the assembly in place but Im not sure if there is something else that needs to be removed.

The assembly will move slightly but Im worried that if I apply too much force I will break it.

Any help with this would be appreciated.

You have to slightly pry the assembly out. There may be one or two rounded "locks" at the far end of the assembly that you need to get out of the sockets to free the assembly from the car.
