Hello, in newer modern cars in the column overhead leading to the roof there are wires that emit a large electromagnetic field right next to your head inside the cabin. I have a sensitivity to magnetic fields right near my head. Is there any way to run these wires under the floor instead of overhead? Or can it be wrapped in shielding?

In newer vehicles like the 2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee, the wiring is typically routed through various areas of the vehicle to connect different components. While it may be possible to reroute specific wires, it's important to note that making modifications to the wiring system of a vehicle can be complex and may require extensive knowledge and expertise.

Here are a few considerations:

Consult with a Professional: It's recommended to consult with a professional automotive electrician or a specialized car modification shop. They will have the necessary expertise to assess the feasibility of rerouting the wires or implementing shielding and provide you with the best advice based on your specific requirements and the vehicle's design.

Wiring Routing: The wiring in modern vehicles is designed with specific routing paths in mind, taking into consideration safety, functionality, and integration with other components. It may not be feasible or practical to reroute all the wiring, especially complex harnesses that are integrated into the vehicle's structure.

Shielding: If the electromagnetic field is a concern, it may be possible to implement shielding around specific wires or components. However, this requires specialized shielding materials and precise installation techniques to effectively block electromagnetic interference. Again, it's advisable to consult with professionals experienced in automotive electrical systems to ensure proper implementation.

Seat Positioning: If your sensitivity is related to the proximity of the wires to your head, adjusting the seat position may provide some relief. By reclining the seat or adjusting its height, you may be able to increase the distance between your head and the overhead wires.

It's crucial to remember that modifying a vehicle's electrical system can have safety and warranty implications. Always consult with professionals and ensure that any modifications are done by experienced technicians who understand the intricacies of automotive wiring and safety regulations.
