My truck runs rough, it has a new distributor cap and plug wires and for some reason it has gas in the oil.

Hi,

If you have gas mixing with the engine oil, either the fuel pressure is too high, one of the cylinders isn't burning the fuel, or you have a stuck injector. If you run the diagnostics, are there any codes stored? Here is a link showing how it's done:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/retrieve-trouble-codes-for-chrysler-dodge-plymouth-odb1-1995-and-earlier-car-mini-van-and-light-trucks

The fuel pressure on these vehicles isn't controlled by the traditional vacuum regulator. Instead, it is controlled by the fuel pump module at the tank. So, first, I need to confirm fuel pressure is within spec. If it is, then we need to perform a leak-down test.

If you follow the directions below, they explain how it's done. Do this if there are no codes retrieved. If there are codes, let me know what they are first.
