I smelled it first, mold. I pulled out the headliner and the moon roof is leaking from two spots on the frame assembly. The roof would not open when tried, but the shade would open (but not close). The shade would slide open-close for the rear glass only, but not come back to close the front. Since I could not get the roof to open, I place a bucket on the seat and parked the car for a few days. I checked on it last night and the moon roof opened at some point by itself during the last 2 days. It was raining so now the interior is even more wet. No idea how the roof opened automatically without the key on. Not sure if insurance or warranty covers this. Now with the roof open, there is no debris in the channel or tubes, no sign of how or where the water is coming from. The roof will not close now, so I taped plastic over it. The motor is fine since it works all by itself. Magic.

Hello,

It sounds like the seals are leaking or the moon roo is not closing correctly. Here are the instructions on how to repair the unit in the diagrams below. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on, that would be great. You can upload it here with your response. Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.
