No spark?

Vehicle listed above is a Mk1 1.6i Citirox. Sparking sometimes and not sparking sometimes. Took the distributor out and turn it with my hands and gives spark Tested the coil wire and trigger wire not pulsing. Please help.

I would remove the negative side of the coil and crank the engine over, use a test light on the wire to see if it pulsates, connect the test light to the positive side of the coil. Here is a guide that can help. If pulse is present replace the ignition coil, it is shorted out.
