My check engine light came on today. Is this automatic to get it serviced or is there something I can troubleshoot?

The come on when theres a problem, older models came on at a certain preset time after so many key turns.

Get the code scanned at an autozone and post them back to me and we can troubleshoot this!

Autozone read the error # as p0456
my gas cap is not loose so I guess I need to get it to a garage? Will it harm it if it takes me 4-5 days to get it in?

Not unless you need to get your vehicles emission tested wihtin those days.

Check the oring on the cap, if its degraded you need a new one.

Thanks, I will check the o-ring. It also said the cause could be:
EVAP canister broke, hose cracked
pugre or vent solenoid defective
vacuum leak at engine

how likely are these. And are they expensive to repair? Thanks for all your help

The highest fee will be the diagnostic to find it, a canister is kinda expensive but not too bad same for the purge valve and solenoid.

All of them are common.
