Top end knock

I have a '96 eclipse rs 2.0L, manual, 147,000m with a loud top end knock it also smokes perfusly from the exhaust the smoke is light grey. What could be wrong? Also is the 4g63t (eclipse gs-t motor) a direct bolt on to my rs? Im thinking of doing a swap. -Greg

The valvetrain has failed-You need a valve job and close order inspection of the liters/followers/camshaft.
