My battery is being drained. I have replaced the alternator twice. The problem is still happening. I have taken the alternator to be checked. I took it to Auto Zone and Checker auto parts and both said the alternator was bad. I had a diagnostic check on it, and they too said it was the alternator. The alternator is new. The first one I bought, I replaced because I thought it was a defective part. I replaced it with a new one and to same thing keeps happening. Both my battery and brake light turn on. The parts dealer had me take the alternator and have it 'bench tested'. That showed the alternator was good. What could be causing my battery to loose charge?

So when tested in car running alt showes bad but when out of car bench test it shows good, I would start looking for a short between the alt and the battery, check all your wires, look for burnt or broken wires for a start.
