Hello,

I am putting a new distributor in a 93 Mitsubishi eclipse 1.8L. The manual I have tells me to align the mark on the vibration damper with 0 on the timing indicator. I see the timing indicator but not the mark on the damper. There are 4 dots drilled on the outside metal part of the damper that gets me close to TDC for cylinder 1. The question is which one of the 4 dots do I align to the TDC mark or 0 mark?

Thanks for the help,

The 4 dots is not listed on my reference. Try this remove no.1 sparkplug stick a long skinny object in the port-manually turn crank over when the object stop moving upwards this the point of the no.1 at its highest point in the combustion chamber meaning TDC compression stroke. Play around a few times to verify it. once this is done stab the distributor in making sure the rotor is pointing to the no.1 cap tower.

Ignition Timing is at TDC

Route the wires as indicated below thru its wire loom
