Previous repairs: Timing belt broke and idel speed engine survived and was running strong. Plugs Wires replaced K&N air filter seviced. PCV valve replaced.

Problem: about a week ago I started to get sever hesitation in the RPM range listed above once the engine is up to temp. The engine runs strong after 250,000RPM I have recheked the spark plugs they are burnt I assume from the computer adding fuel during the hesitation. I have tried disconnecting the vacum line from the EGR valve to see if it was getting stuck open, the hesitation still occured. I have hit a bit of a dead end and I would really appreciate it if you could give me some direction and or ideas on what the problem could be.

In my search for the problem I decided to check the resistance across the high voltage terminals of my coil packs I check them when the car was cold and they were just with in the Mitsubishi spec of 9.5-11.5 kilo-ohms measuring about 11.0 K-ohms. Then I checked them after taking a a short drive to get them hot knowing that resistance increases with heat. I checked them again while they were so hot that I could barely hold on to them, and found that the resistance had increased to 11.9 K-ohms on one and 11.65 K-ohms on the other. Obviously they were out of the spec range so I replaced them and the car is back to ripping up Civics again.
