HELLO,
I have a mits endeavor 04, I have noticed some ticking for a while, the other day had my oil checked and it didnt hardly register on the dipstick! I added almost 5 quarts to get it up to the full line, I know your not supposed to overfill it, but I do think it went over the line a little bit...anyway the ticking went away and it drives good now...my question is did I do any damage to my engine driving it while it was ticking before i figured out it had very very low oil and where in the world did the oil go!!?? I am only behind my 3,000 mile change by 2500 miles but it should still have oil, right?
My check engine light has been on for about a year, since it needed to go in for regular servicing..is there a way to turn the light off?
Thank You!

Take it to Autozone they'll clear for you its a free service but if it has a hard code it will continue to come-till its fix-

5 qts gone without a leak might be burning inside the combustion chamber thru bad valves/seals/rings-
