My truck runs and drives fine. I have a used alternator so that might be a problem, I bought a new battery few nights ago and then it died the next. My truck will start and run for a little if I charge the battery but I believe the alternator is killing it. In the wire cluster that goes to the alternator there is one single yellow wire that does not go anywhere I taped it up but I still do not know where it goes. And if that might be the problem.

What is the model on this vehicle? Mirage/Montero?

Get the alternator load tested if okay check for a short circuit that may be draining the battery overnite

To test the alternator

Get a voltmeter read the battery voltage before you start it up record the reading, Now start it up record the reading again-If the alty is good it will read between 13.5volt to 15.5 volts

For the short circuit-

Disconnect the negative battery cable put the red lead to the disconnect cable and black lead to the negative battery post if the reading is battery voltage-start removing fuses one by one till the voltage is not there at this point this is where the short circuit is.

Good Luck
