Engine Performance problem
2002 Mitsubishi Montero 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 122000 miles
We were on vacation, everything was fine and then we made a stop and our truck wouldn't start again. Someone jumped us off, we replaced the battery and the truck began to idle low and stall at stops. The alternator was checked and readings were fine. We filled up and added a fuel treatment and things seemed fine for a day. Next morning, truck wouldn't start again. We jigled the ground cable on the battery and the truck started. Again, it was idling low and stalling at stops, so we replaced the ground cable to the battery. This did not fix the problem. Any suggestions? The truck seems to run fine, other than the above mentioned issues.
Probably the base idle needs to be reset. Remove the negative terminal, wait for 5-6 minutes and refit the terminal.
Start the car and let it idle for 10 minutes and this procedure should relearn the computer and the stepper motor.
