2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Exhaust tip

I am trying to remove my old exhaust tip. It has been on the muffler for about 3 years now. If has rusted a little and has 2 holes in it. When I first put the tip on my dad banged it on with a piece of wood and a hammer. It is stuck on the pipe about an inch deep. Is there any way I can remove this tip and replace it with a new one? Please help!

Try giving it a good dousing of WD40 or the like, let it sit over night, Try and tap off with a punch, you nay be able to knock it side to side a bit, if you are replacing the muffler just cut it off and use a hack saw blade cut the old bit of pipe out from the in side.
