A water hose burst and in under 2 minutes my car shut off with the engine blown. I love the car but I question spending $1900.00 for a used engine for a car of this age. Also, I am concerned that the extreme temperature that caused the engine to fail may have damaged other parts under the hood. Does anyone have a suggestion?

Have you had a mechanic confirm that your engine is indeed blown? Just because it will not start after overheating doesn't mean it is shot.. it could just be a single component.

However, if it is gone then that is completely up to you. Changing an engine in a foreign car is always going to be more expensive so it is your money and choice.

All other components should be fine except maybe the radiator could be cracked.
