recently my SRS light came on and I would like to know once I diagnose and correct the problem if I have the ability to reset the SRS ECM myself or if this is a dealer repair only?

You need an SRS enable diagnostic scanner to retrieve the SRS trouble code(s) stored and then delete the codes after repairs are made. If you don't have the scanner than a repair shop will have to do it for you.
