2008 Mitsubishi Eclipse code PO431

Hey guys! I just purchased a 2008 mitsubishi eclipse for 17,000. The minute I drove it off the lot, The check engine light came on, when I hooked it up to the computer it read code P0431. The sketchy car guys turned it off and said dont worry about it. Should I be worried? I dont know if this problem is common? Please help!

Maybe not -- could be emissions related or a sensor out of wack. Might just cause you to get bad gas mileage or nothing at all. But a 2008? Take it in under warranty. I don't know what that code is but I bought an Eclipse repair manual that lists all the codes. Even with a nearly new car like yours -- a repair manual would be a good thing to have.
