I HAVE A PROBLEM WITH MY '03 ECLIPSE AND I AM TRYING TO FIGURE OUT WHAT THE PROBLEM IS. I THINK IT IS EITHER THE CLUTCH OR TRANNY. OK. ABOUT A WEEK AGO I WAS DRIVING MY CAR AND NOTICED WHEN I GOT UP TO LIKE 3000-3500/RPM'S I NOTICED IT STARTED TO SLIP A LITTLE AND REV UP ABOUT ONLY 500/RPM, THEN IS WOULD CATCH! IT DID THAT FOR ABOUT A WEEK AND THEN I WAS DRIVING IT ONE MORNING AND ONCE IT HIT ABOUT 1000/RPM'S IT SLIPPED AND WOULDN'T CATCH AT ALL. IF I BARELY PRESS THE ACCELERATOR I COULD POSSIBLY DRIVE IT FASTER, BUT ONCE I PRESS THAT ACCELERATOR JUST A MILLIMETER MORE IT SLIPS AND REVS. SO BASICALLY THE MORE I PRESS ON THE ACCELERATOR THE MORE IS SLIPS AND REV'S UP! SORRY IF I DIDN'T EXPLAIN IT WELL ENOUGH, BUT IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS THEN JUST WRITE. THANKS

Replace the clutch assembly-bleed the system and adjust the pedal freeplay and height.

You sound like you have the same problem as me. I was told is could be the fluid (NO, I DON'T THINK SO), then I was told the clutch needed adjusting and i've also been told the clutch is slipping, which is what I tend to agree with. Let me know how you get on. I think that I will end up having a new clutch fitted. :)

Mine is the clutch that is slipping. I'm having to replace it, oh and I am not Mr England. I'm female, moved to Canada 6 years ago and have been driving for 25 years. :D
