2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse starting

In the morning when i go to start it starts but not all the way, like it sputters for a few seconds then starts all the way. but then through out the day when i start it it starts up fine. What the problem?

I have the same exact problem!!! I have the same exact car too. It's always when the car is cold too. Mine started doing that about a year and a half ago. I don't if these problems are related, but my gas mileage slowly got worse too. I know the Eclipses don't get great gas mileage, but when I first got mine I would get 315-400 miles to the tank, depending on city/hwy, etc... Now I get 250-280 to the tank. I have spent over 2 grand trying to get it fixed. No one can tell me what is wrong. What kind of gas mileage are you getting?
