Transmission problem 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 10800 miles

I was pulling quickly onto a highway at high rpms when the car stopped driving, so I coasted to the curb, and could not get it to move in any gear I tried. It began making loud clunky cranking sounds whenever I tried to put it in gear or the car was even just turned on. The car wouldn't go in any gear. And only revved up. It broke down right next to a repair shop, so that's out of the way. Any ideas?

Hello,

It sounds like the clutch disc has fallen part leaving no material to grab with. Here is a guide to help you see what you are in for when changing the clutch out by removing the transmission.

and

You will need to remove the CV axle.

Check out the diagrams (Below)

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken
