Hello,

Any help you can give me on this would be appreciated.

I've noticed for the past few months that when I put my brakes on, especially on the highway, my steering wheel shakes.

High probability of warped brake rotors. IF it is worse when braking at thruway speeds such as an off ramp, then it pretty well confirms it. Typically when it is felt in the steering wheel, it is mostly coming from the fronts. You'll need the pads at the same time.
