Vehicle has luke warm heat. What will cause the vehicle not to get hot.

First off, check your coolant level. Make sure that it is at almost "FULL".

Then check your thermostat...

I had the same issue along with a spike in engine temperature every once and while. I found I have a leak in the radiator cap allowing air to get into the cooling system. I purchased a new radiator cap and cut additional support gasket and I have not had a problem since.
