The noise-maker has been located and can be compressed slightly by ones fingers (the only 1 of the 16 that can be compressed that way). However, there are several that are pitted on the valve end. Any ideas as to the cause of the pitting? Must the pitted ones be replaced? Mitsu wants a fortune for these (found at PartsDinosaur for $5). Thanks!

Thew pitting isnt a good sign on any wear surface, could mean the hard coating is wearing, or that the polish has worn off and now is abrasive. I would replace them all at this point. Have seen them start making noise after re-install just due to the fact teh seals were disturbed
