MITSUBIS SUPPORT LIFT ISSUE
2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse

2000 Mitsubishi Eclipse 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Manual 125000 miles
So I've been looking everywhere online but can't seem to find it.
How do the support lifts that hold up my rear hood work?
Why do they stop functioning?
Can they be fixed, or is it just another money maker for the manufacturer?

Thanks for the response! Is this something I could do myself or would it be cheaper to just buy new support lifts?
