Steering problem
1998 Mitsubishi Eclipse 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Manual 134k miles

The boot on the left side started leaking on the way home from work ( right at the house). I jacked it up and saw a small 1/8" hole on the outside end of the boot, while I was looking at the left side the right started leaking. The steering seems to be working fine, what gives? Could it be the R&P? The return filter? Help

Hi there,

The rack end seals are leaking, the expanding boots are only a dust seal, this is a job for your mechanic as special tooling is often required to service steering racks.
