I have a 96 eclipse. I recently swapped the motor and trans out in my garage for new ones. A week ago I installed autometer gauges. Water temp, oil pressure and volts. I noticed my car heating up so I pulled off the road and cheked under the hood. My gauge says my cars is at about 200 degrees. My radiator fan no longer kicks on. The only time both fans come on is when I push the a.C. Button. They both engage for about three seconds then the a.C. Light blinks a few times and both fans stop. I've checked relays fuses plugs i've hooked another fan up to it even. But it won't click on. Everything checks out but it still doesn't work. Please help me get back on the road again.

When the AC come on the fans instantly start. When its idling, the fan doesn't come on.

So you crank it up, pop the hood, and look to see if the fan is running and its not. And its not supposed to be.

I went through the same thing -- but found out its working when you are running. I'm scared to overheat these motors too-- but take it on a spin, bring the temp up, then pop the hood with someone revving it to see if its working.
