I have recently been gifted a 99 Villager (as is, and I'm grateful for it). It starts fine but after about 10 minutes, it looses powere & starts making a knocking/ pecking noise. I was told by the previous owner that it needed an oil pump. Any ideas?

faulty or weak oil pump will prevent engine from receiving proper lubrication. this will cause the knocking you hear and the engine will perform poorly due to lack of lubrication.
