1994 Mercury Villager eec connector

Where in the world did they hide the diagnostic test plug for my vehicle? Looked under dash didn't see it on either side, also looked under hood and didn't find it.

Trouble codes are retrieved from EEC system through Data Link Connector (DLC), located behind left side of instrument panel below fuse/relay panel. See Fig. 2 . Follow scan tester manufacturer's instructions to retrieve codes
