1995 tracer w 118,000 miles, had a new transmission put in, now it loses power from a battery cable like it has a short in it, if you're driving the car will lose all power and i have to get out and jerk on the battery cable. then it will start, also the windshield wipers will not turn off, they constantly run even when the switch is off.

Remove and clean both battery cables. Insure they are tight. Remove and clean the ground cable to the engine, engine to the fire wall and battery to the frame.

Cars are not made to have a battery cable jerked.
