The symptoms of a bad cam sensor include poor acceleration, "lumpy" idle meaning the car will jostle, kick and or sputter while idling. It will show all of the same symptoms as a bad catalytic converter but without the rotten eggs smell coming from the exhaust. A no start situation is not likely from a faulty cam sensor, but it is possible.
