HOW DO YOU REMOVE THE ALTERNATOR IN A 1997 MERCURY TRACER. IS THERE A SPRING LOADED PULLEY THAT CAN BE COMPRESSED TO RELIEVE SOME TENSION ON THE BELT?

There is a Tension pully on top. There is a square hole to insert your tool and turn to relieve the belt. Then take out the two mount bolts.
