1998 Mercury Sable 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

What is the difference is size between the 110 amp alternator and the 130 amp alternator on a 1998 Mercury Sable 3 liter engine?

Physically the same size, just higher output. With the VIN, call ford and they will tell you which one yours came with. Parts dept!

is there any difference in the case? I want to put the 130 in my car if there is no difference in the case, and e-bay also has a 180 amp one available for the 1998 Mercury Sable 3 liter.

Is the amperage marked on the alternator anywhere? I plan on buying a used one because new ones are just way to expensive where I live, ( over $200 )

The info I have is ALL Tarurus and Sables use 130 amp, made by Motorcraft, or Mitsubishi

Zackman, rock auot is showing both 110 and 130 for VIN U?
Go with the 130 amp.

Yes they do. I would agree going with 130 amp as price difference is very small.
