Hi, I am wondering before I do major financial stuff to this car if it's the tranny or the engine back firing? As I am not financially able to rebuild a tranny.

When I accelerate the car jolts and it feels as if the car isnt driving for a second or 2 then all of a sudden it'll gun and go fast and then it will do the jolt again. And when sitting at a light the whole car shakes.

Please Help

Hi Denise,

First off - Is the engine light on? If so will need to get codes pulled. You can go by your local auto parts store to have it done, they will usually do it free. Write down codes and post them here.

Also when was your last tune up, spark plugs, and wires.

Hi! Yes the engine light is on. And my friend pulled a code that was a misfire code? And I just bought the car from someone and they told me a lot of lies about the car so therefore Idk about the tune up. I was gonna take it to get done. Think that will help?

It would be a start and hopefully fix your problem. However, there could be some other problems. With a misfire code it could be a few different causes. Here are a few.

Vacuum Leak
Intake Leak
Cracked or broken Intake Air Duct
Fuel Injector failure
Fuel Pressure Problem
