1995 Mercury Sable

Have to heel/toe to keep running and kick into neutral. Will cut off w/no foot on gas for idling or coming to a stop. On take-off, acts like it's fuel starved, w/very little pwr and then seems to clear its throat and smooths out for a while, but while driving, can tell that its "loping" or surging and then backing off on it's own. It's as if I'm playing w/the gas pedal, believe me, I'm not. Had to have it towed home last night--it wouldn't stay lit after getting it started numerous times.
