How do you bypass the heater coil. I have steam coming in through the dashboard by the windshield. How easy is it to bypass and will it mess up the engine if it is bypassed instead of being replaced.

Well, you could disconnect the inlet and outlet heater hoses that connect to the heater thru the firewall. Just plug the heater inlet and outlet, and connect the two hoses together. Of course, you won't have heat anymore. I don't think it would mess up the engine. The steam you see is probably a coolant leak. You probably need to replace the heater core.
