My husband replaced the starter and now the engine fan stays on even after the key is turned off and taken out of the ignition. Only unhooking the neg battery cable turns off the fan. He has previously replaced the starter in this car and it has been fine for almost a year. It was still under warranty so we were given a new starter. Do you have any suggestions. Any other information I can give?

Your fan is controlled by a relay, (an electrically controlled switch) that allows a device, (your computer) to turn the fan on and off without having to divert all the power necessary to run the fan through the computer. Find your power distribution box, (probalby under the hood). There are going to be some black boxes about 2"x2", these are your relays. The box should tell you which relay is the fan control relay. Pull that relay from it's location, the fan "should" turn off. Swap out a relay from nearby (maybe one marked headlamps) and see if the problem disappears. Best guess, you have a stuck relay and it will probably continue to give you problems until it is replaced.
