2005 Other Mercury Models Changing Temp

I would like to know why the AC wont change from Heat to Cool? Everything works but when when I put AC it satys or blows only hot air, and When I press to AC to cool, it keeps blowing hot air.

I have taken the car to a repair shop thinking it was the FREE-ON but the mechanic sid everything was okay, free-on good everything was working okay.

what would you advice be for this problem? Thanks.

You may have a door on the heater not opening or one may be stuck. You can try reaching up and feeling around you can fee the motor or the lever coming off of it. Try to move it easily one way or theother. Of course it may not be working either. Especially if the A/C is working ok. I'm surprised the mechanic didn't check it out further.
