The head gasket on my car blew one day while driving on the expressway. I had it replaced but now the car won't start. Had a friend check the compression and coolant spewed from one of the cyliders. What could the problem be and how would I go about fixing it?

who changed the gasket? Most important when you remove the head you must machine it so it's flat again. While the machine shop has it the also check for cracks! sounds like somebody missed one...just hope it's the head and not the block. If all propper machineing and checks were done, then someone goofed the gasket install. Maybe it was put in upside down? Sometimes a special sealant is required on head bolts.
